
Our Academy
Triple Crown Academy is the premier training facility in the Tri-State area for baseball and softball. Originally opened in Oaks, PA in 1996, the owner, Tim Kerns, has been providing baseball and softball instruction to players of all ages.
As of 2009, the academy has changed locations to Limerick, PA. Our brand new facility is customized to provide the most ideal practice facility in the area.
We pride ourselves in having the largest batting tunnels in the area to allow for better instruction and a more comfortable feel.
Kerns and his staff pride themselves on their knowledge, professional experience, and committment to the sport they love. Whether it be hitting, pitching, fielding, or strength training, Triple Crown Academy is here to fulfill your needs.
Our Staff
Tim Kerns
Tim began his baseball career playing for Malvern Prep. After achieving 1st Team All City Honors and Inter AC MVP, he graduated in 1988 with a full baseball scholarship to Davidson College.
At Davidson, Kerns holds the single season record of Homeruns (17), RBI's (61) and total bases (135). His senior year he batted .373 and hit 17 homeruns while only striking out 19 times.
In 1993, Kerns played professional baseball for the Ohio Valley Redcoats. He hit .331 and led the team in HRs and RBI's.
After his playing days were over, Tim decided to remain in the baseball business and help upcoming athletes become successful ball players. Triple Crown was opened in 1996 when Tim was at the age of 25. He's credited with bringing the idea of indoor year-round training to the Montgomery County Area for baseball and softball. He has worked with numerous top draft choices from their early days in Little League up to and through the Major League Draft.
In 2008, Kerns helped coach an 18U American team in an overseas tournament in Oldenzaal, Holland. The team won the entire tournament and returned to the states with a gold medal.
In 2010, Kerns took another 18U team to Curacao to compete against Curacao's 16U & 18U Natioal teams.
Dan Batz
Dan Batz graduated from Governor Mifflin in 2000, and went on to play college ball for the University of Rhode Island from 2001-2004. In 2004, Batz was selected as a 6th Round Draft Pick for the LA Dodgers where he played for 2 years.
Batz also played 1 year for the Florida Marlins Organization before joining the Triple Crown staff in 2010 . Coach Batz' accomplishments include:
- A-10 Conference Rookie of the Year 2001
- Freshman All American 2001
- All New England 2002, 2003, and 2004
- A-10 Player of the Year 2004
- 2nd Team All American 2004
- 6th Round Draft Pick (LA) 2004
Blair Dameron
Blair Dameron began his baseball career at Pennridge High School. He was selected to the Suburban One - National Carpenters Cup Classic All-Star Team his Junior and Senior years at Pennridge, named team MVP as a senior, 2-time All Intelligencer Selection in Baseball, and 2-time All Intelligencer Selection as a Quarterback and Defensive End in Football.
After High School, Blair attended West Chester University on a baseball scholarship. He started in the corner infield all 4 years and graduated in May of 2009.

- Appeared in 4 Atlantic Regional Championship Games (2006-2009)
Since graduation he has pursued a business career which brought him to the Limerick area. Blair and his wife, Courtney, currently live in Royersford. Blair has been with Triple Crown since October of 2010 and is an instructor in TCA's prestigious Fall/Winter Program.
